A Krakow boat party is a ticketed event on the Vistula: you buy a ticket, board the boat below Wawel Castle and spend two hours partying with an open bar, a live DJ and a magician performing tricks. When you step back ashore, the night carries on – guides take everyone on to an after-party at the clubs. It’s a great option if there are just a few of you, or if you’re in Krakow for the weekend and want to meet new people.
Below we explain exactly what’s included in the ticket price, how the evening unfolds from the meeting point to the after-party, how to get there and when it’s better to go for a private cruise just for your group.
What’s included in a Krakow boat party ticket
A ticket costs €52 per person and covers the whole evening’s programme – drinks from the open bar and entry to the clubs for the after-party are included.
- A 2-hour cruise on the Vistula with the other partygoers.
- A 2-hour open bar – beer, rum, gin, vodka, whisky, prosecco and mixers.
- A live DJ and a magician on board.
- A photo booth with free prints – you take your photos with you straight away.
- A photographer capturing the party.
- After-party and pub crawl with free VIP entry to clubs and a welcome shot.
Parties run every Saturday during the season, and on selected Fridays in June and July too. Your ticket arrives by email as a PDF – there’s no need to print it, just show it on your phone.
Who it’s for – and which time to choose
The ticketed party is designed for individuals and small groups. It works well when you’re visiting Krakow as a couple or a handful of friends, when you’re organising a small stag do or hen party, or when you simply want a Saturday night out and a chance to meet new people. You don’t need to round up a crew of thirty or plan a programme – a ticket is all it takes.
There are two meeting times to choose from: 16:30 and 19:30. The earlier one means cruising in full daylight, with the after-party starting early in the evening – a good option if you’ve got plans first thing the next morning. In high summer, the later one coincides with sunset: in June the sun sets in Krakow at around 20:50, so the golden hour and the first illuminations over the Vistula fall during the cruise, and afterwards you head straight to the clubs.
Dress comfortably but ready to party: flat shoes for the deck, a warmer layer for the evening on the water and a small bag big enough for your phone, ID and a power bank.
How the evening works, step by step
- Booking. Choose a date using the form on our Krakow boat party tickets page and you’ll receive a confirmation with your PDF ticket.
- Getting to Wawel. You meet directly at the boat at Bulwar Czerwieński 3 (31-069 Kraków) – Czerwieński Boulevard on the bend of the Vistula below the castle, between the Dębnicki and Grunwaldzki bridges. Trams stop nearby at “Wawel” and “Stradom”, and buses at stops including “Jubilat”.
- Meet at 16:30 or 19:30. On the boulevard, look out for the Krakow Boat Party sign and the guides – show them the ticket on your phone and you’re on board.
- Two hours on the water. Open bar, DJ, magician, photo booth and photographer – with Krakow seen from the river beyond the rail. As you board, look around for the Wawel Dragon – the six-metre sculpture stands on the same boulevard.
- After-party. After the cruise, the guides lead anyone who’s up for it on a pub crawl. Free VIP entry and a welcome shot await at the clubs.
Open bar, smart moves – how to enjoy yourself right to the end of the night
The open bar lasts two hours, but the night doesn’t end there. If you want to make it to the after-party in good shape, pace yourself – and the best photo-booth pictures are the ones you’ll happily show off the next day.
- Eat before the cruise. A proper meal a few hours before you meet is essential.
- Pace, not a race. Alternate drinks with something non-alcoholic – mixers are included – and don’t treat the open bar as a challenge. Two hours really is plenty of time.
- No warm-up on the boulevard. Drinking alcohol in public places is prohibited in Poland, so raise your first toast on deck.
- Safety on board. Comfortable flat shoes, listening to the crew and absolutely no leaning over the side.
- Stick together. On the pub crawl, agree who’s keeping track of everyone, and keep your phones charged.
- Getting back to your accommodation. Krakow has a night-time ban on alcohol sales in shops and at petrol stations, so any after-party at your flat needs to be planned in advance – although water and a calm taxi ride home are the best bet.
We share tips on what to pack in a small bag for a night like this in our article on what to bring to a boat party.
Ticketed boat party or private cruise – which to choose
The ticketed boat party and a private cruise are two different formats. The first is for individuals and small groups, the second for crews who want the boat all to themselves.
| Boat party (ticket) | Private cruise | |
|---|---|---|
| Who it’s for | individuals and small groups | your own group, package prices from 30 people |
| Price | €52 per person | packages from €20, €27 or €36 per person |
| Dates | Saturdays in season and selected Fridays in June and July | date and time agreed individually |
| Alcohol | 2-hour open bar | depends on the package; with Star you can bring your own |
| Programme | DJ, magician, photo booth, photographer, pub crawl | you choose a package and extras, e.g. catering, decorations, photo coverage |
If you’re organising a stag do or hen party for just a few people, tickets are the simplest solution. For a larger crew, a birthday or a corporate event, a private boat party in Krakow is the better fit – you decide on the music, start time and programme yourselves. You’ll also find a comparison of different formats in our post boat, tram or club – which to choose, and a description of what you can see from the water in our article on what a Krakow evening river cruise looks like.
