A party on a boat or in a club – or maybe on a tram? When you’re weighing up stag and hen party ideas in Poland, each of these formats can work, but each in a different situation. A boat gives you privacy, views and 2 hours just for your group; a party tram gives you a ride through the city streets with music; and a club gives you a big dance floor and dancing into the early hours.
Below we compare all three options – with a table, the pros and cons, and a tip on when it’s worth combining two of them into one night.
Stag and hen party ideas compared – boat, tram or club

A boat – when it’s the best choice
A private cruise is a good option when you want the whole group in one place and an attraction that “makes the night” on its own. Only your guests are on board, and the view keeps changing: in Krakow, Warsaw and Torun you sail on the Vistula, in Wroclaw and Szczecin on the Oder, in Poznan on the Warta, in Bydgoszcz on the Brda; in Gdansk the route is agreed individually, and for Katowice the boat sails on the Pogoria lakes in Dąbrowa Górnicza.
Pros:
- a private space for a group of 30+, without juggling bookings for several tables,
- views and photos, especially on a sunset cruise,
- it’s easy to run games, speeches and a toast for the guest of honour, because the group doesn’t drift apart,
- a predictable budget: a per-person package price that’s easy to split,
- ready-made elements – from music on Basic to a DJ, bartender, Partymaker and photo coverage on VIP.
Cons:
- cruises only run during the season, from spring to autumn,
- package prices apply to groups of 30 or more – a smaller group needs an individual quote,
- the cruise lasts 2 hours, so for a longer night you need to plan what comes next,
- you have to book at least 5 working days in advance – it can’t be done at the last minute.

A tram – a party on the move through the city
A party on a tram is an idea for groups who want to see the city through the windows of a carriage rolling through the streets, rather than from the water. This format is run by our sister brand TramParty – private parties on a tram running through the city, with a sound system and a setting tailored to the occasion.
Pros: a route through the city and street-level views, an unusual atmosphere that’s easy to remember, and a natural warm-up before dinner or a club.
What to bear in mind: in a moving vehicle you need to hold on to something, so dancing is more careful than on deck or in a club. The inside of a tram is long and narrow, which is less suited to games in a circle or team tournaments. Check the available cities, dates and prices directly with the organiser.
A club – the classic for a long night
A club wins when dancing until late is the priority. You don’t need to hire the whole venue, so it’s a convenient option for a small, spontaneous group, and availability doesn’t depend on the time of year.
The cons, however, quickly become obvious with a bigger group:
- you share the space with other guests, and it’s harder to keep the group together,
- loud music makes it hard to chat, give best man or maid of honour speeches, or play the games you’ve prepared for the guest of honour,
- there may be queues and a strict door policy, and a large group often needs to book a table or a VIP area,
- the cost is harder to predict – it’s made up of entry fees, the table and the bar bill.
If you go for a club, agree on a per-person budget and a time to head home in advance – and pace yourselves, so the bride- or groom-to-be makes it to the end of the night in good shape.
How to combine formats – and what to choose
You don’t have to pick just one option. This sequence works well: an active afternoon, a sunset cruise, then dinner or a club. Smaller groups heading to Krakow, Warsaw or Wroclaw can also join the open ticketed boat parties, which include going on to clubs after the cruise – we’ve described the details on pages such as Krakow boat party tickets.
- Choose a boat if there are 30 or more of you and you want a private party with a view.
- Choose a tram if you fancy a ride through the city and an unusual atmosphere.
- Choose a club if dancing until late matters most and your group is small.
- Combine a boat and a club when you want a special start and a long night.
You’ll find all cities and occasions in our boat party offer, and indicative costs in our overview of how much a boat party costs. We’ve set out a sample budget with a cruise on the Oder in our post on how much a stag do in Wroclaw costs.
FAQ – stag and hen party ideas: boat, tram or club?
Which is cheaper: a party on a boat or in a club?
It depends on the size of the group and the style of the evening. On a boat you know the price upfront – packages start from €16 per person for a group of 30 or more. In a club the cost is made up of entry fees, a VIP table and the bar bill, so it’s harder to predict.
What should we choose for a hen party: a boat, a tram or a club?
If photos, games for the bride-to-be and time together as a whole group matter to you, a boat is the best choice. A tram gives you a ride through the city, and a club is best saved for later in the night.
Can you dance on a boat?
Yes. Music is included in every package, Star and VIP add lighting effects and lasers, and with VIP a DJ runs the music. For dancing on deck, choose comfortable flat-soled shoes.
Is a boat party suitable for a small group?
Package prices are given for groups of 30 or more, and for smaller groups we prepare an individual quote. In Krakow, Warsaw and Wroclaw, small groups can also join the open ticketed parties.
Can we combine a cruise with a night out at a club?
Yes. The cruise lasts 2 hours, so it’s easy to plan dinner or a club afterwards. The ticketed parties in Krakow, Warsaw and Wroclaw include entry to clubs after the cruise.
The choice depends on your group
A boat means privacy and views for the group, a tram a ride through the city, a club dancing until late. If you want it all, start with a cruise and move on to a club. Send us an enquiry with the city, date and number of people, and we’ll prepare an initial offer for your cruise.
