Planning a Wroclaw hen party on a boat and looking for ideas to fill two hours on the river? Here are 12 suggestions – from a red-carpet welcome, through games and photos with Ostrów Tumski in the background, to a relaxed finale to the night. You can tailor each one to the bride-to-be’s personality and the group’s budget.
All the ideas assume a private cruise: the boat is yours alone, and we agree the departure time – afternoon, sunset or evening – individually.
Before you board – getting ready for the hen do
1. A theme and dress code
Pick one colour or theme: white for the bride and pastels for everyone else, an 80s look, or nautical stripes. In the cruise photos, a group with a shared look comes across miles better. Just remember flat shoes – stilettos on deck are asking for trouble.
2. A banner with the bride-to-be’s name
A personalised banner on the boat sets the mood straight away – it can feature the bride-to-be’s name, the wedding date or a slogan for the night. Add boat decorations in your colours and you’ve got the perfect backdrop for your first photo.
3. A playlist from the maid of honour
You can plug in your own music even with the Basic package. Ask each of the girls for three tracks and add a few songs with a story behind them for the bride – from her first date, her school days or her last holiday. With the VIP package, the list goes to the DJ.
The first hour on the Oder – welcome and games
4. A red-carpet entrance
The Star and VIP packages include a red-carpet entrance and a welcome: with Star, a welcome beer or 3 bottles of vodka, champagne or prosecco; with VIP, a welcome drink. It’s the perfect moment for a toast and a photo of the whole group.
5. “How well do you know the bride?” quiz
Prepare 15–20 questions: where was the first date, what’s her favourite dish, who said “I love you” first? On a boat, a team version works brilliantly – port side versus starboard.
6. Games with dares
Random dares, wedding-themed charades, “who said that?”. You’ll find a ready-made set in our article 25 boat party games. You can also book party games and icebreakers from us as an extra.
7. A performance on request
You can add a live performance to the evening – musical, dance or comedy. Describe the bride-to-be’s sense of humour in your enquiry, so the surprise suits her taste rather than leaving her embarrassed.

8. A photo shoot with Ostrów Tumski in the background
The cathedral towers on Ostrów Tumski (Cathedral Island) are around 97 m tall, so they make a stunning backdrop for photos. If that view matters to you, mention it when you book – we agree the route individually. You can order photo coverage as an extra, and it’s included with VIP.
9. The golden hour
In June and July the sun sets in Wroclaw at around 21:00, so starting an hour earlier gives you both warm light for photos and the city’s illuminations at the end. You’ll find sunset times for the whole season in our article on the Wroclaw night cruise on the Oder.
10. A keepsake video
Instead of a hundred chaotic stories on everyone’s phones – a keepsake HD video of the cruise. It’s a ready-made gift for the bride-to-be and something you can show at the wedding.
Food, drinks and the grand finale
11. Stress-free catering and drinks
Hot, cold or barbecue catering means nobody goes hungry. The Star and VIP packages also include welcome savoury snacks plus soft drinks and juices – 6 litres with Star, 20 litres with VIP. You can bring your own drinks at no extra cost with the Star package; with the others, it’s an extra. Buy them in advance: in Wroclaw, shops and petrol stations don’t sell alcohol between 22:00 and 06:00.
12. A relaxed finale on Ostrów Tumski
You don’t have to rush straight off to a club after the cruise. Take a stroll around Ostrów Tumski – after dark it’s lit by almost a hundred gas lamps that a lamplighter lights by hand. For the rest of the night, pick a bar or restaurant: drinking alcohol on the riverside boulevards and in other public places is generally prohibited in Poland.
How to fit these ideas into two hours on the Oder
Twelve ideas is more than will fit into one cruise – and that’s a good thing, because a hen party shouldn’t be a race through a to-do list. A simple rhythm works well:
| Cruise time | What’s happening |
|---|---|
| 0:00–0:15 | red carpet, welcome, a photo of the whole group by the banner |
| 0:15–0:45 | quiz about the bride-to-be or a team game |
| 0:45–1:15 | catering, chatting and a photo shoot in the golden light |
| 1:15–1:30 | surprise performance or the maid of honour’s speech |
| 1:30–2:00 | dancing to the light show and final photos |
The maid of honour’s speech is best planned for the second half of the cruise, when everyone has relaxed but the dancing hasn’t started yet. Ask one person in the group to keep an eye on the time – two hours go by faster than you’d think.
How much does a Wroclaw hen party on a boat cost?
In Wroclaw, packages cost from €16 per person (Basic), €20 (Star) and €31 (VIP) – prices apply to groups of 30 or more and a 2-hour cruise, and smaller groups get an individual quote. If the maid of honour wants to enjoy the party too rather than keep track of everything, consider VIP: a Partymaker to look after the group, a bartender or hostess, a DJ with equipment and photo coverage are all included. You’ll find the full offer on our hen party boat in Wroclaw page, and other occasions on the BoatParty Wroclaw page.

Can we play our own music?
Yes. You can plug in your own playlist even with the simplest package, Basic. If you choose VIP, a DJ with equipment takes over the decks – then all you need to do is hand over a list of the bride-to-be’s favourite songs.

When should we book the boat for a hen party?
You need to send the form at least 5 working days before the event, but the earlier you do, the better the offer. Summer weekends are worth booking well in advance.
What if there are only a few of us?
You can ask for a quote for a private cruise for a small group, or buy tickets for a ticketed boat party – in Wroclaw it runs every Saturday evening in season and costs €49 per person.
A great hen party is about a few well-thought-out moments, not a marathon of activities. Pick 4–5 ideas from this list, choose a date and send us an enquiry – we’ll prepare an initial offer for your cruise on the Oder.
